Nothing says celebrating Americas Independence as much as sun, tans, and patriotic colors.
Whether you’re tanning pool side or attending evening galas, here are some fun ways to dress yourself up for the weekend full of festivities. Wearing a flag across your body isn’t the only way to incorporate the country’s colors into your outfit! All these looks can be created right at home from clothes you already own, and can be worn time and time again. That’s not even the best part…THEY’RE ALL SUPER CHIC!

#1 // Pool Side Patriotism
White or Blue Denim shorts paired with your swimsuit will take you from pool to BBQ all July 4th weekend. Adding a patriotic bandana as a headband will keep the hair out of your face, and give you the stars and stripes to tie the whole outfit together. Some casual sandals will finish this look, making you look the part and completely avoiding looking like a flag pole.
#2 // Prim and Proper Star of The Show
This look is perfect for a luncheon or weekend event. The key is to be subtle. Festive, does not mean you have to incorporate every color of the flag and go above and beyond. I paired a cobalt blue dress with some nude pumps as the base of the outfit. The star bangles are the AH HA moment of the outfit… hello STARS and stripes. They are elegant and delicate, but still fun enough be noticed as your creative addition. A bold red lip will tie this whole look together without being too cliche for the holiday itself. Talk about a sophisticated affair.
# 3 // A Casual Flagship
This casual and laid back look is great for every other occasion that doesn’t include a pool or a formal space. Culottes are really in this season, and so are slip on mules. This look has it all without being overly complicated. I paired an easy striped culotte, with a plain white body suit and red slip on shoes. All the makings of the flag, without overpowering the patterns. While each piece has it’s own pattern, something about this look doesn’t clash. The star crawler earrings add just a touch of quirkiness bring us full circle.
I hope you found some inspiration for your weekend of red, white, and blue. Wishing you all a wonderful July 4th weekend filled with family and love. If you have any cute, outfits from YOUR Independence day (U.S. or not), I would love to see them, so feel free to share!
