Met Gala Cut-outs

The Met Gala never disappoints when it comes to celebs strutting their stuff in some of the most gorgeous gowns. Some are over the top glamorous, while others are pieces of art in themselves.

This years trend to follow was the cut out! So many hot styles with architectural designs took traditional silhouettes to a whole new level.

Here are some of the starlets that made the cut at this years Met Gala:

Rita Ora in this risque Metallic Feathered Vera Wang gown. There was no holding back on this number.. and we can’t even be mad.

Kendall Jenner in this playful number by Atelier Versace somehow manages to still look wholesome despite baring some skin. The colors and patterns are perfect for the season and the cut compliments her figure.

Another Jenner steals the show in her embellished cut out gown by Versace. Looks like we might have a new style icon in the making with Kylie Jenner here.

Nicole Kidman, in Nicole Kidman. This appropriate night time and glitzy dress looks quite witchy. Moons and all. Minimalistic cut outs add some structure to the otherwise flowy dress…paired with a cape?! Yet, she rocks this look!

Although all covered up, Alessandra Ambrosio looks stunning in this fully cut out gown. Let’s face it, she probably looks great in anything, but a lovely lace looking ensemble that still looks classy! It definitely works with her body.

Miranda Kerr in Louis Vuitton looks young, fresh, and fun! There are so many colors and patterns working together in harmony. While this is more of a set, I still really loved how different this look was that I decided to include it as a “cut-out” trend piece.

Another midriff dress worn by Allison Williams. This Peter Pilotto dress suits her so well! The pale colors, mixed with patterns are so this season. The added side piece, or lack there of, shows off her hard work! Summer bod anyone?

Lilliana Vazquez’s sunshine yellow dress is so unexpected! She looks like a little tulip in this latex looking dress. The deep V cut out looks appropriate on her, yet still gives this sweet look, a more grown up feel. So do the smokey eyes and shoulder length curls. I am also feeling those pearl accents!

Funny girl Amy Schumer is rocking her red Alexander Wang gown. Head to toe red, and yet her deep V, and side cut outs are very suitable on her! Nothing too revealing or out there, but she’s looking good.

Kate Hudson looks STUNNING in this Atelier Versace dress. The mixed fabric works so well together. The flowy bottom and body armor corset just look great on her! The bits of cut outs in the bodice portion, gives it a softer, fem look. So much going on with this look, yet she carries it well.

Zendaya never ceases to amaze us. Style icon at such a young age, she seems to have it down. This Michael Kors dress has just the right amount of sexy and glamour. Can we talk about her hair style…I don’t know who else could have pulled it off better!

Irina Shayk looking like an all American girl in this United States flag dress. Who would have ever thought? Some how she makes something that could look so tacky, work. The shoulder cut outs were a good touch, without them, this could have easily looked too frumpy.

Last, but not least, I had to end with this beauty. Does Cindy Crawford even age?? While not the biggest fan of the fabric, the silhouette looks great on her. The subtle cut out shoulders don’t reveal too much, but still break up the solidarity of the sparkle. Although not cut outs, the mesh “pipe-lines” running down the sides add a little something too.

There were so many amazing looks at the Met Gala, that it was so difficult to choose just a few for this post. So much style and design in one place, there are no rules, and if there were….they would so be worth breaking!
